Hvitsten Salong 2023

Hi, and I'm back from a break!

In august Halvor Aarak and I was part of the festival Hvitsten Salong wich promotes

art and music. Together we painted a garage wall (many thanks goes to Maria and Gard).

Title of the painting was "Jam" and was an improvised piece based loosely on one

sketc we made with charcoal. We were inspired by flow, music and the Fossegrim.

Graffiti course!

This summer I held a graffiti course for some of my mom's friends.

We tried different brands, caps and types of paint.

Good vibes!

Buying cans at KEM Oslo and priming the huntonite boards.

Bought the cans at KEM Oslo and I finally got to try the water based paint.

We painted on huntonite boards so they needed to get primed beforehand.

J Dilla stencil

Had this copper montana hardcore can that was

itching for something to do. So I made this for a friend.

Spraypaint on canvas (35 x 27 cm).

Stencil portrait in 9-layers

Made this using only one Montana transparent black can.

Stencil portrait with 9 layers, using only one transparent black can.

Projectin image onto cardboard and drawing the cuttin lines.

Used a tracer-projector to show the image on

a large piece of fine cardboard. I drew each

layer by hand andcut them with a scalpel knife.

Sprayin the steps from darkest to lightest nuanse

Two pieces of plywood on each end of the canvas
made sure I could line up the huge stencils easily.
Then I tried to keep the can in the same motion and
distance each time I sprayed the canvas. That didn't
happen. A pink fat-cap helped me so I could get
farther away from the stencil as I sprayed it.
There-ya-go!

woodworking skills have improved.

Tagging, form og farge del 1

I 2012 holdt Guro Gimle og jeg en graffitivandring i Oslo i samarbeid med Oslo Museum. Etter denne guidede turen ble jeg spurt av ei student om hun kunne lage en mini-dokumentar om graffiti. Vi gikk rundt i byen mens vi så på kunsten og snakket om kunsten vi så. 1. del handler mest om begrepsavklaringer innen graffiti. I 2. del handler det mest om gatekunst som fenomen og noen meninger rundt dette. Vet ikke hvorfor jeg ventet så lenge med å dele dette her, det var da jeg het Engebretsen til etternavn og sparte til langt hår. Snustennene har jeg fortsatt.
