Personal highlights from the Venice Biennale 2026.

My first trip to the Venice Biennale this May was a blast! I did not know what to expect, but I got so much more than I could imagine of intriguing works of art, historical architecture, food and all the things inbetween. Even though I got home three days ago, I still haven't quite landed yet and I guess I won't for some time. And theres still many pavillions and artwork I didn't have time to check out so maybe, just maybe I will return for a second blissful experience. This post will highlight some of the works I enjoyed the most, and I guess will stay with me forever. If you'd like to read more, please check out this webpage: https://www.labiennale.org/en/art/2026

Picture of Venice, Italy.
The first day it was a little rainy, so I went for the long showroom at the Arsenale first wich was indoors.

The Moroccan pavillion presented woven works from Amina Agueznay.

Beautiful knitted work at the Uzbekistan pavillion by A.A.Murakami.
piece by Philip Aguirre
Outside of the Arsenale I totally fell for this piece by Philip Aguirre (Belgium).
Nordic pavillion with Tori Wrånes.
The last two days had better weather, so I went to the Giardini and off course visited the Nordic pavillion with this piece by Norway's Tori Wrånes.
the german pavillion with a facade made by mosaic tiles by Sung Tieu
As an old graffiti artist the german pavillion with a facade made by mosaic tiles by Sung Tieu intrigued me.
interactive work by Ei Arakawa-Nash (Grass babies, Moon babies) at the Japanese pavillion
The huge interactive work by Ei Arakawa-Nash (Grass babies, Moon babies) at the Japanese pavillion was both fun and thought provoking.
Alma Allen at the US pavillion
Shoutout to Alma Allen at the US pavillion. I really endulged in these sculptures.
Spanish pavillion by Oriol Vilanova
The spanish pavillion was bombarded with postcards gathered through flea markets over twenty years! Oriol Vilanova really made me think about what kind of images we use to communicate.
Avetis Sargsyan's "Loss of self".
Right outside the Giardini you can find the Marinaressa Gardens. It's two smaller gardens filled with stupidly good sculptures here showing Avetis Sargsyan's "Loss of self".
Olga Lomaka's "Dreaming Miki".

And now my personal favourite :-). I have never before been weak in the knees and just standing still with my mouth open when looking at artworks, but this...  This work called "Permanent address" by Sumakshi Singh at the Indian pavillion was just jaw-droppingly beautiful.

Thousands of small embroidered threads make up this architectural piece wich resembles a memory of a home. I'm lost for words.

If you have the means, please don't sleep on this years Biennale. You won't regret it!

Collage-workshop.

So I went to a collage-workshop held by illustrator and designer Tine Isachsen at the norwegian national museum. We drew with acrylic markers, watercolor markers, regular water colors and fineliners. It was a great experience where you had to make your own collage images, then cut them out and place it all together. Here's my result.

Hvitsten Salong 2023

Hi, and I'm back from a break!

In august Halvor Aarak and I was part of the festival Hvitsten Salong wich promotes

art and music. Together we painted a garage wall (many thanks goes to Maria and Gard).

Title of the painting was "Jam" and was an improvised piece based loosely on one

sketc we made with charcoal. We were inspired by flow, music and the Fossegrim.

MÆD Concert & Vernissage

 Hi folks!

Thought I finally should go outside and show my works with the band "MÆD".

This would all go down in the bands hometown Fredrikstad, Norway in Gamlebyen Kulturhus. The clash of concert and art exhibit was a fun experience!

Graffiti course!

This summer I held a graffiti course for some of my mom's friends.

We tried different brands, caps and types of paint.

Good vibes!

Buying cans at KEM Oslo and priming the huntonite boards.

Bought the cans at KEM Oslo and I finally got to try the water based paint.
We painted on huntonite boards so they needed to get primed beforehand.

Pictures of a graffiti course for oldies.

Here it is all set and the course could run its, well... course.

Experimenting with the cans at the graffiti course.

Pouring.

Last autumn I helped a friend build a pouring

platform, and now I finally got to test it.

Pouring platform.

We used a mixture of bought and found materials.

Pouring platform tested.

First test to see if the paint went the right way.

Final results og the pouring.

After some time I tried it myself and this is my first result.

Reminds me of tobacco...
